Where passion meets plate and glass. Founded by husband-and-wife team Phil and Diane Lutgen, Pour is the realization of a lifelong dream rooted in their shared love for food, wine, and community. With over 25 years in the hospitality industry, Phil brings extensive experience in restaurant management, while Diane's background in entrepreneurship and family dining adds a personal touch to every guest experience.
About Phil Lutgen
Phil Lutgen holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Hotel and Restaurant Management from the University of Wisconsin–Stout. With over 25 years of experience in the hospitality industry, he has successfully launched more than 40 retail and restaurant startups, expanded market presence, and built strong brand awareness.
Phil has led teams of up to 40 direct and 500 indirect reports in both regional and national restaurant chains, managing P&Ls exceeding $20 million. His expertise in staff selection, training, and motivation has been key to developing a world-class service standard that is both measurable and easy to implement.
Phil possesses a deep understanding of the key drivers of performance and focuses his efforts on maximizing operational efficiency and profitability. His in-depth knowledge of health department regulations and compliance processes helps streamline new business launches and ensures every guest receives a top-tier experience.
A strong advocate for community engagement, Phil has served on various city organizations and has also coached youth and high school football. Known for his motivational leadership style, he takes the time to connect with team members at all stages of their careers, fostering a collaborative and driven work environment.
Phil's extensive industry knowledge and relationships within the hospitality and wine sectors make him a valuable asset to any venture. He is currently pursuing a Master of Arts in Organizational Change and Development from Hawaii Pacific University, further expanding his leadership and strategic capabilities.
About Diane Lutgen
Diane Lutgen was raised on her family’s farm in Dayton, Minnesota, where she developed a strong work ethic and a passion for community. For over 17 years, Diane has been a successful entrepreneur, operating a home-based child care business tailored specifically to the unique needs of schoolteachers and their families. She holds an Associate of Arts degree in Accounting and completes more than 25 hours of professional training annually to stay current with best practices in child care.
Diane’s roots in hospitality run deep. She gained hands-on experience in the industry working at her family’s restaurant, Dehn’s Country Manor, starting as a busser and later serving guests. These early experiences provided her with invaluable insight into the demands and rewards of running a family-owned business.
Known for her warm hospitality and attention to detail, Diane also has a talent for crafting exceptional desserts, which she often prepares for small events and special requests within her network.
As co-founder of Pour, Diane plays a crucial role in shaping the guest experience—from behind-the-scenes operations to thoughtful service touches that leave a lasting impression. Her intuition, creativity, and ability to connect with people make her an essential part of the Pour leadership team.
Together with her husband Phil, Diane brings a well-rounded understanding of hospitality, service, and community connection. Their combined experience makes them a strong, grounded team dedicated to creating meaningful guest experiences.
